 Terri Engle

A life changing accident was instrumental in transforming Terri from a stay-at-home mom to Ordained Pastor and Board Certified Chaplain. It was during her Clinical Pastoral Education that she became aware of
integrative therapies. Healing Touch was readily available and she took advantage of the opportunities to study close to home. It took her two years to complete the certification process. Terri became a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner with Healing Beyond Borders in 2011. Further study in the Beyond Surgery Program gave Terri additional techniques to use with people who are anxious or stressed about surgeries, cancer treatments, birthing, and other medical procedures.

An important part of healthcare involves Healthcare Advanced Directives. Terri will assist those who are interested in having a Healthcare Power of Attorney and/or Advanced Directive for Natural Death (Living Will). Notary services are available upon request.

Spiritual Care is important. Terri is ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA). She has also trained as a Chaplain and is a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains.

Training as a Chaplain opened up a variety of interfaith opportunities. Chaplains learn to minister to both people of all faith traditions and people of no faith traditions. Wanting to foster and understand a broader range of integrative therapies allowed Terri to study and become a Reiki Master. Art, Guided Imagery, Tapping, and Aromatherapy with Essential Oils were studied with Dr. Bridget Bongaard as part of an Integrative Chaplain Program at Carolina Medical Center NorthEast.

As an ordained Minister, Terri is available to officiate at weddings, funerals and memorial services. She is a FOCCUS Pre-marriage Awareness Facilitator and will assist those couples who are looking to strengthen their relationship as they prepare for marriage.

Reverend Terri Engle received her Bachelor of Science from High Point University and her Masters of Divinity from Wake Forest University School of Divinity. As part of her Chaplain Certification process, Terri completed an internship and a residency in Clinical Pastoral Education at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Terri is married with two adult sons, both married to wonderful women. She is also blessed with two grandsons and two granddaughters. Rounding out her family are Tirzah, a yellow lab, and Ellie Belle, a wedontknow.
