Healing Touch

Healing Beyond Borders

What is Healing Touch?
Healing Touch is a relaxing, nurturing energy therapy. Gentle touch assists in balancing your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Healing Touch works with your energy field to support your natural ability to heal. It is safe for all ages and works in harmony with standard medical care.

Healing Touch research suggests that there are many benefits. Individual experiences will vary.

Where is Healing Touch used?
Healing Touch is used in a wide variety of settings including hospitals, long term care facilities, private practices, hospices, and spas. Janet Mentgen, RN, founded Healing Touch in 1989 as a continuing education program for nurses, massage therapists, other health care professionals, and lay persons. Today Healing Touch has spread internationally and is taught in universities, medical and nursing schools, and other settings internationally.

What happens in a Session?
The first session involves a consultation as well as the energy session itself. The provider will ask a series of questions about the individual's physical, mental, and emotional situation, and will answer any questions. Then the individual will lie fully clothed on a massage table while the provider gently places their hands slightly above or on the individual. The session generally lasts 40 to 60 minutes, and people frequently report feeling deeply relaxed and peaceful during and after the session. There is a cumulative effect of using Healing Touch over time and regular sessions are recommended.

There is no need to accept any beliefs to give Reiki healings successfully. This energy can be used by anyone and integrated into any set of beliefs but only for the Greatest Good in any & all situations. Reiki is not judgmental or selfish in any way.

 Guided Imagery

What is guided imagery?
Guided imagery is a program of directed thoughts and suggestions that guide your imagination toward a relaxed, focused state. Guided imagery is based on the concept that your body and mind are connected. Using all of your senses, your body seems to respond as though what you are imagining is real. You can achieve a relaxed state when you imagine all the details of a safe, comfortable place, such as a beach or a garden. This relaxed state may aid healing, learning, creativity, and performance. It may help you feel more in control of your emotions and thought processes, which may improve your attitude, health, and sense of well-being.

What is guided imagery used for?
Guided imagery has many uses. You can use it to promote relaxation, which can lower blood pressure and reduce other problems related to stress. You can also use it to help reach goals (such as losing weight or quitting smoking), manage pain, and promote healing. Using guided imagery can even help you to prepare for an athletic event or for public speaking.

Is guided imagery safe?
Guided imagery is safe. No known risks are associated with it.

Why should couples take the FOCCUS© Pre-Marriage Inventory?
The FOCCUS© Pre-marriage Inventory was designed for couples preparing for marriage or seriously considering marriage. It provides them with a personalized profile of their relationship, its strengths and challenges. Overwhelmingly, couples give as their top response to the FOCCUS© Pre-marriage Inventory, "It helped us to talk about what we didn't know we needed to talk about." FOCCUS actively involves the engaged couple in the marriage preparation process,

It gives a unique profile of the couple so that the preparation work can reinforce the strengths in the relationship and concentrate discussion or problem solving on the particular challenges the couple may face. FOCCUS can be readily adapted to marriage preparation programs, skills training or facilitation by mentor couples.
